A year ago people would have laughed at the notion. But now, here they are, having overcome all odds to get here.

The Tampa Bay Rays have been absolutely devastating all year, being tested so far only by the Red Sox whom they ousted in a memorable seven game series. The Phillies haven't been quite as dominant this season, but they convincingly defeated the Dodgers in the Playoffs to earn the National League Pennant. The experts expect Tampa Bay to win the series and the first championship of their short existence. But as Yogi Berra would say, "It ain't over until it's over."
Incidentally, does anybody here really care about baseball? If the Phillies--or the Red Sox for that matter--weren't in the World Series, I doubt I'd be watching it. And living in Philly there is no escaping it. Everywhere you turn you see Phillies stuff for sale or whatever. It's almost getting annoying.

Devious Comments
I like the vibe at the ballpark, too, and the fact that I can watch/listen on TV or the radio and actually follow what's going on. And unlike, apparently, many people, I really do like watching it. I don't find it boring at all, and the parts that get slow, well, I just kick back and enjoy my beer and the aforementioned vibe.
